Are We Eating Fresh Food, Or What?

Here we go again! I’m sure we have all seen or heard the recent news about food poisoning in our produce. If you have been following Mad House Farms at all you may already understand our Meridian, Idaho based Farm was started to counteract this very issue. We feel so passionate about it that in 2024 we decided to start growing fresh & healthy Microgreens. Not only for ourselves, but available to all of Treasure Valley, Idaho. It has always been important for us to engage with our community in a way that enables us all to thrive from eating fresh food.

Being candid about our farm hygienics and growing practices has always been an open discussion point with our customers. We want to educate people in our community on how their health can benefit from our Microgreens. But, equally important, we need to educate people of the safety of our facility and to ensure them our Microgreens are free of any disease or any form of “food poison”.

Though our practices are listed on our website https://mad-house-farms.com/get-to-know-your-greens/ , they are also simplified below. This is how we operate daily to ensure health and safety for all of us while providing the most delicious Microgreens!

  1. Sanitary practices= Chronic hand washing, our farm is sanitized regularly & PPE is worn by all employees at Mad House Farms without exception.
  2. Coco Coir growing medium = Pre-sanitized, resistant to pests and fungi. Single use only.
  3. R/O filtered water = 100% free of chemicals, harmful bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, etc.
  4. Organic seeds = Free of pesticides and chemical treatments.
  5. Harvest = All Microgreens are harvested with sanitized tools and packaged in a 100% recyclable container.
  6. Delivery = Packaged Microgreens are stored in a sanitized temperate cooler until they reach your door.

Mad House Farms feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to provide clean fresh Superfood to our neighbors and local restaurants. We will continue on our journey to reach as many people as we can to let them know they have a local source for healthy, fresh disease-free Microgreens.
